Just back from the hanging of our selling exhibition at the League of friends Gallery at the QMC. Despite the horrendous traffic to get to the car park, the prints got delivered to site, Tom’s route from the University showed great insider local knowledge.
Certainly a new item on the programme since I have been a member, so it was interesting to see how it would go. The basic premise was to have a series of photographic themes that each person was required to find and shoot. 5 points where awarded for actually finding and shooting the theme and then an additional 0-5 points awarded for “photographic style” and “interestingness”, giving a total of between 0-10.
Thursday 6 March saw our first interclub competition of the year the James Maude Camera Club.This year it’s been a two legged race, with the first leg being held at home and the second leg being held at James Maude’s club room.
March 13 saw over 20 of the members congregate on the Forest Rec with some of the Fields of Fire fire spinning team.

I dabbled with photography as a child with a Kodak brownie camera, nothing serious just some snaps but later with the advent of digital I got into photography seriously with a Sony compact camera but wasn’t getting the results I wanted.

Once again it was a pleasure to present the award winning members with the new Outlaws Trophies.
Last Friday night many of NOPS members, old and new met at The Wheatsheaf in Burton Joyce for the club’s Christmas meal.

Being as though I suggested this feature I felt it only appropriate that I should kick it off.
I have been into photography all my adult life, my passion really grew when my wife (to be) bought me a Prakitica L2 with a 50mm Pentacon lens for an engagement present when I was 19 (yes, it was a long time ago).
