Interclub battle with James Maude Camera Club
Thursday 6 March saw our first interclub competition of the year the James Maude Camera Club. This year it’s been a two legged race, with the first leg being held at home and the second leg being held at James Maude’s club room.
Each club entered 12 prints and 12 digital images, the same set of images would be used both legs.
The judge for our leg was Simon Hickey who had a different style of scoring than other judges, he commented on all the images, then scored and held back a few (2 for JMCC and 7 for NOPS on the prints and 2 for JMCC and 7 for NOPS on the PDI) and then those images held back were scored.
The images that were presented were of all high quality, some the judge preferred over others and this was reflected in the scoring.
Chris Newham scored 20 for his image “Battered warn and still standing” in the prints.
Lester Woodward scored 20 for his image “Pol Pot survivor” in the PDI section.
The 18th of March saw the return leg of our battle with James Maude camera club at their new and excellent home venue in Mansfield.
John Young took our entries along and Louise Walton acted as judge and gave some excellent comments on the entries.
JMCC had some excellent images including an interesting portrait called ‘Bloody Love’ and a still life with an imaginative arrangement of a packet of Polo mints on a reflective surface.
Thanks TO JMCC for hosting this leg of the event.
