Loughborough Treasure Hunt

NOPS members enjoyed an evening exploring Loughborough. We have an annual photography treasure hunt on foot around a location.Members go in search of images that match a theme.This year the themes were;> Birds> Converging Parallels> Decorative doors> Flowers> Food> Lights> Looking Up> Old & New> Reflection> Statue or Sculpture

Pleasley Pit

This pit is located to the North-West of Mansfield. On a very rainy evening NOPS members visited this site that closed as an active coal mine in 1986. Papplewick Ponds

Opposite Papplewick Pumping Station there is a small area of pools called Papplewick ponds. Several NOPS members had a socially distanced meeting to explore this area. The pond has a lot of wildlife and is surrounded by reeds, silver birch trees and gorse bushes. The evening finished with a lovely sunset behind the pond.

May Open PDI Competition

On 27th May we held our third open PDI competition via Zoom and we welcomed Les Loosemore as our judge for the evening.

April 2021 PDI Themed Competition Results

29th April saw the first of our combined theme and open PDI competitions as we make our way back to post-Covid normality. Our judge for the evening was Steve Walters and he did a great job, bringing some interesting and very constructive comments to the task.

Ploughman Wood

Many of NOPS Outlaws members have been recently exploring a local ancient woodland. Ploughman Wood is situated near the village of Lambley. It is owned and managed by Notts Wildlife Trust. The wood dates back to the 13th century.

March 2021 PDI Competition Results – Open

We held our first PDI Outlaw of the Year Open competition on Thursday 25th March as a Zoom meeting. We were pleased to welcome Sue Hartley back to the club as our excellent judge.

February 2021 PDI Competition Results – Street Life

We held our first ‘Outlaw of the Year’ 2021 PDI competition with the theme of ‘Street Life’ on Thursday 25th February. There were 42 excellent images and we were very happy to welcome Paul Radden to judge them.

Members Choice Competition Results January 2021

We held our annual Members’ Choice competition via Zoom on 28th January. There was a larger than usual entry this year with a total of 45 entries and the standard of images was high. Members enjoyed an evening of viewing images and ranking their top six.
