I have to admit that I felt reasonably comfortable taking a 23 point lead advantage from the first leg at Mansfield, it turned out to be much closer in the end!
Open & Theme “Triangles” Competitions have got off to a good start this year with our 1st projected open & theme having 92 submissions. The judge, Peter Cheetham, had his work cut out with a high standard of images in both sections, as usual there were many useful comments to help us improve our work.
The 58th Annual NEMPF Exhibition (NEMPF is the North and East Midlands Photographic Federation) kicked off in Mansfield on January 12th with many excellent photos on display from Outlaws members, including Rick Martindale, Michal Tekel, Lester Woodward, Sue Jackson, Ben Rawson, Ian Pinn, Scott Wilson and Chris Newham. I was fortunate (?) enough to be chosen to judge the above annual event. All club members from our federation (N&EMPF) are invited to enter, sadly only 15 individuals put work forward, quite a low number but the quantity of images is then ‘topped-up’ from Rushcliffe PS members.
It is with great pleasure to report another record breaking achievement at the Outlaws. 37 clubs entered this years exhibition with a total of over 3000 images across all sections. The Outlaws finished in 7th place overall, an outstanding result for what is essentially still a small club. Our acceptances were as follows;
