NEMPF 2013 Exhibition & Award presentations
The 58th Annual NEMPF Exhibition (NEMPF is the North and East Midlands Photographic Federation) kicked off in Mansfield on January 12th with many excellent photos on display from Outlaws members, including Rick Martindale, Michal Tekel, Lester Woodward, Sue Jackson, Ben Rawson, Ian Pinn, Scott Wilson and Chris Newham. See http://www.nempf.org/EVENT-EXHIBITION2013.aspx
Scott and Chris were on hand at the packed opening ceremony to receive some well-deserved additional recognition – two Selector’s Choice Awards in the colour print and colour digital categories for Scott, who had seven acceptances in total; and highly commended and certificate of merit in the mono print and mono digital categories for Chris, who also had 6 acceptances.
The NEMPF exhibition is fiercely contested – 300 photographers from across the North and East Midlands submitted almost 3000 images, hoping to make it to the final 200 – so gaining an acceptance to the exhibition is a fantastic achievement in itself – a massive ‘well done’ to all those who helped us to amass more Outlaws acceptances than any previous year – we were seventh in the club league table, with a previous best of 15th – and special congratulations to Scott & Chris for hitting the awards heights and setting such a high benchmark for next year!
If you can, pop along to the Mansfield Museum & Gallery and check out the fantastic images on display from the wide variety of top photographers and clubs which the NEMPF region has to offer. The exhibition is free and runs until 9th February.
