David Cawthan Trophy 2025
The David Cawthan Trophy is the final Outlaws competition of the year and its aim is to demonstrate a photographer’s competence across a number of photographic genres. There are two formats, a Projected Digital Image (PDI) and Print format, both are run as separate competitions. Members can enter six images and they must embrace four genres and that is of their choice.
The judge for this competition was Stephan Nicholson from Newark & District Photographic Society.
The competition was very well supported with Stephan having sixty PDI’s images to comment on and a similar number in the print section.
The decision was purely at Stephan’s discretion and he complemented the Outlaws on the quality and originality of the images presented to him and he particularly liked the quality of the printed images on display.
The PDI section was won by Lois Webb and below are her winning selection of images.

Lois’s images are titled from top LHS; Bike Park, Giant Asian Mantis, Market Day, Port Glasgow Perch Lighthouse, Riverside Reflections, Which Way Now.
The Print section was won by Chris Houldsworth and below are his winning images.

Chris’s images are titled from top LHS; Blackburn Buccaneer Take Off, Evening City Scape, Jewish Museum Memory Void, Pulling Together, The Woolpack Rocks Kinder Scout, Tram To Town.
The Outlaws would like to thank Stephan for his constructive comments and enthusiasm for the Nottingham Outlaws creative works.
