Lester Wins LCE Action Photographer of the Year

Success for the Outlaws.
Lester has been crowned London Camera Exchange (LCE) Action Photographer of the Year 2025.
The competition is free to enter and consists of a number of different categories.
Ten Finalists are selected for each section, and a winning image is selected; these images are then judged to find an overall winner and runner-up.

BLOWING THE CHEEKS by Lester Woodward
Things got a little tricky when the organisers needed a full resolution copy of the image, this would normally be very straightforward, but not when you are touring Italy and haven’t got your hard disks on you. (yes its a good case for cloud storage or home server system). Fortunately I had backed up some of my images to my Flickr site, and so was able to send them a higher resolution image, phew. The organisers notified me that “blowing the cheeks” and “Dreamfall” had been selected as finalists for their sections and would be exhibited at the photography show, when the winners would be announced. “Blowing the cheeks” was announced winner of the action section along with a £250 gift voucher. So all I had to do was to get the prize, the date was fixed at the Nottingham branch of London Camera Exchange. Of course a photo of the handover had to be taken. Very nice to find out that I also got a trophy and published in a book and also achieved overall runner-up so the voucher was for £500 at LCE.
So as discussed with the manager Aaron, encourage all club members to enter, its free afterall.
