Strike A Pose – Model Night
At last Thursdays club night the Outlaws refreshed their lighting techniques, model compositions as well as offering encouragement and direction to the all female sitters. There were three models on the night Maddie a professional model, Marion a firm friend of the club that has supported us in this role for the past three years and club member Christine who couldn’t resist the opportunity to strike a pose in front of the cameras.
The members installing the lighting equipment arrived in good time as setting up the equipment & creating scenes for the models takes some time and it all had to be in place ready for the eager Outlaws when the club night officially started.
The session was of two hours duration with a well timed tea break at the midway stage. There was three scenes in play, one created by Lester, one by Nigel and the third by Brian. The models rotated across the scenes allowing for different outfits and scenarios to be created. Lester had created a very polished scene with hat boxes, delicate fabrics plush seating & creative lighting.
There was a really good feel factor to the evening and all members abilities and skill levels were catered for. Tuition, advice and encouragement was readily available from the more experienced photographers, some Outlaws were trying their hand at this genres of photography for the first time. Equipment such as lighting triggers was shared by the group thereby allowing everyone to have a go irrespective of camera type and lighting interfaces.
To complete this article I have included some images taken by Sally showing how successful the evening was.
