I love being a member of a photographic society that pushes me to create images I would not produce unless for a themed club competition. Last month’s theme was ‘Surrealism’. Inspired by Rene Magritte, this composition was built using multiple images, all taken by me. I thought of paying homage to the famous artist when I took a street portrait of a suited gentleman on St George’s day in Nottingham. Only 4 photographs were used this time but it took a lot of work to get the right feel and tone of the separate images to make the final image appear cohesive.
