February PDI Competition – Open and Themed February 24th, 2022
On 24th February we held our first PDI competition of the year, at our new venue of St James Church Centre, and we welcomed Phil Howcroft as our judge for the evening.
There were 31 entries in the open section and 30 in the themed (Reflections) section. Phil complimented the club on having a fine selection of images, covering a range of subjects. Which led to 9 images being held in the open section and 10 in the themed.
Scores of 17 were scored by Sue Jackson, Chris Houldsworth. Patrick Wallis scored 18 for Female Kestrel, as did Ray Andrews for Winter Sunset, and Mark Taylor for Over You Go. Nigel Stewart scored 19 for Storm over Banburgh Lighthouse and Lois Webb scored 19 for Storm Clouds over Clevedon. Lester Woodward scored 20 for The Boatlady. The winner of the open section for the evening with 20 points was Nigel Stewart with Reed Bunting Bathing in Winter Sunshine.
The theme for this month was Reflections. There were three scores of 17, for Brain Thorley, Nigel Stewart and Patrick Wallis. Malcolm Nabarro scored 18 with Pigeon and Pipe as did Sue Jackson with Winter Tree Reflections and Lester Woodward with Illy Reflection. 19 was scored by Mark Taylor with Harpa Concert Hall Reykjavik and John Young for Reflected Pier. Brian Thorley for Boy Wonder and Lois Webb for Two Face Double Take were both awarded 20 points and the winner of the themed section being Two Faced Double Take by Lois.
