Nottingham Outlaws 2nd PDI competition report
Following last nights club competition with a ‘Mainly orange’ theme and open section that hosted a wealth of great images, competition secretary John Young presents his usual report..
On Thursday 27th April we held our second PDI monthly competition. We welcomed the return of Trina Fitzalan-Howard as our judge. My thanks go to all who take on the difficult job of judging and without whom we would not be able to run competitions. Well done to all competition entrants for another set of enjoyable images. This month’s theme was Mainly Orange and we were entertained by a wide variety of images.
In the open section the judge held back seven images. Tabby achieved a 17 for her Autumnal Seats as did Chris Houldsworth for his U Bahn and Ray Andrews for his Red Racer. Steve Roper was awarded 18 for his Cuban Green Woodpecker as did Tabby for her New Leaves. Two images were awarded a score of 20; Tom Cross for his Egrets on the Roof and Lois Webb for her The Boxer which was awarded winner for this section.
In the themed section scores of 18 were awarded to Steve Roper for Cuban Taxi Rank, Lois Webb for Mainly Oranges, Chris Houldsworth for Underneath the Arches and Phil Beckwith for his April Shower. Steve Roper also gained a 19 for Barbados Lilly and the section winning score of 20 went to Christine Sweeney for her simple but very striking shot taken with great skill and called Marmalade.
