NOPS 4th print competition report
Following an interesting and enjoyable evening on Thursday, competition secretary John Young presents his report on the 4th NOPS print competition of the year.
It has been a busy week on the competition front. We have delivered our entries to the Sileby Photographic Society Exhibition trophies, two panels, one of six prints and the second of six digital projected images. On Thursday 24th September we had our 4th club print competition with the usual open section and a themed section on ‘Doors and Windows’. The judge was John Anfield who commented on the high standard of entries. A big thank you to John for his skilful judging and informative comments. Judging is a difficult job and societies such as ours owe a great deal to the brave souls who undertake this task. The open section was won by Bob Richards with his ‘A Book at Bedtime’. Lois Webb gained a 19 for her ‘Connecting Lines’ and John Purchase’s two images ‘Don’t Look Back’ and ‘Summer Love’ both got 18. In the themed section John Hodgkinson won with his ‘Candyfloss Sunset’ which gained overall winner for the night. Tom Cross got a 19 for his ‘In The Pink’ and 18 for his ‘Blue Door’. Well done to the above and also to all entrants for another enjoyable competition.
