NEMPF Print Championships 2014

Friday May 16 saw this years NEMPF print championships, these were held in Nottingham.

The judging of the print championship was carried out by Peter Young, Jon and Margret Sixsmith; they use a keypad system and score an image between 2 and 5, these are then accumulated to give the image overall score.

We had to have at least 5 black & white images, at least 5 colour images, no more than 3 natural history, at least 5 different photographers and no one photographer could enter more than 4 images.

Along with 12 other clubs NOPS entered the first round with 12 images.

This gave us a total score of 132, putting us in 7th place, the top 8 clubs go through to the second round where 15 images are entered.

You will notice that some of the images in round 2 are the same as in round 1, but a couple, unfortunately, dropped a mark or 2.

In the 2nd round we gained 163 points, this left us in 7th place overall.

Congratulations go to Chris Newham who scored 13 with “Battered and worn but still standing” in both rounds, and also for scoring 13 in round 1 with “Elgol morning”
