Nottingham Outlaws August DPI competition report

On 31st August we held the monthly club competition. This month it was a PDI competition with 30 entries in the open section and 26 entries for this month’s theme which was ‘Moving Coloured Liquid’.

Alan Young was the judge for the event and he gave us some excellent and detailed advice on our images, thank you Alan. Well done to all who entered, the standard of images was admirable and made an interesting and enjoyable evening. It was also great to see newer members participating and showing their work, thank you to everyone.

In the open section scores of 17 went to John Young for ‘King of the Glen’, Chris Houldsworth for ‘Flotsam’ and Christine Sweeney for ‘Tomato Twins’. Eighteen went to Steve Roper for ‘Red Admiral’, George Riley for ‘Rock Pippit (Anthus petrosus)’ and Malcolm Nabarro for ‘Kinder Downfall’. Nineteens went to Phil Beckwith for ‘Coming Home’, Nick Pearce for ‘Juvenile Robin’ and Lois Webb for ‘The Merchant’. The winning image was Steve Roper’s excellent ‘Swallows Feeding’.

In the themed section Phil Beckwith scored 17 for ‘Right on Time’. Eighteens went to John Young for ‘Honey Spoons’, Lester Woodward for ‘The Dancers’ and Malcolm Nabarro for ‘Cuvee Inflamable’. Nineteen went to Lois Webb for ‘Wine Lovers’. Malcolm Nabarro had the winning image ‘Amber Nectar’. Well done Malcolm for getting two high scoring images and thank you to all for an interesting and enjoyable set of images.
