Lots of photos up on flickr of this year’s (rather damp) trip to Wales!

Portrait evening
June 5, 2010 by Chris Rickels
The second Nottingham Outlaws Portrait evening of the year was a great chance to learn a bit more about using off camera flash. Specifically balancing the ambient light with flash to make portraits really “pop”.
Many thanks to Steve and model Katherine for their advice and inspiration ( and patience! )
Some of the results of the night can be seen below.
Thursday 3rd June – Flash Photography Demo
June 2, 2010 by Chris Rickels
Some of you might have met Steve who was a guest at the last club competition. He is actually a photography lecturer specialising in studio and portrait work. We have invited him to give us a tutorial session on June 3rd, he will be bringing kit and a model, also some money off offers at Calumet. The idea being that he does a half hour talk, then we move onto shooting the model.
This should be an excellent opportunity to work with studio lights/flash with expert guidance available.

Outlaws Trip to Rutland Water
May 16, 2010 by Chris Rickels
Last Thursday’s no meeting night was the perfect chance for an evening outing to catch a sunset over Rutland Water.
A good Outlaws turnout saw a pleasant, but not stunning, sunset in a beautiful tranquil setting. The church provided a perfect chance to grab a last minute ‘reflections’ photo for next week’s competition theme!
The photos are starting to pop up on flickr, here are a few of them.
