June DPI competition

With Junes projected competition over and all images marked, competition secretary John Young presents his report.

Our club monthly competition on 25th June was judged by Malcolm Sales. He made some informative and helpful comments and once again we enjoyed having him at our club.

The theme “Food and/or Drink” brought forth some interesting and imaginative entries. Lester let his creative skills run wild with his “Elderflower Foodscape“. Reece Hodgkinson, our youngest member, entered his excellent “Kiwi” which scored a commendable 17. There were some more conventional shots as well, such as John Young’s “ Mercado de la Boqueria“. The section was won by Lester with his “Fruit Loops“, another example of his fertile imagination. The open section had a wide variety of entries including Phil Hodgkinsons “Winter Morning” and his “Titan Trigger Fish in the Indian Ocean“. Phil was happy with the triggerfish score of 18 as that shot was pretty tricky to get because these fish can give pretty severe bites, they have been known to chomp through wetsuits!. The open section and overall winner, “Conspirators” was by John Hodgkinson (yes we do have three generations of this family in the club!).
