How long have you been a photographer?
I have been taking photographs since I was 7 years old, though I was only allowed about 2 films a year because the processing cost so much. I loved waiting for the packet of 24 prints arriving on the doormat.

First camera?
My Grandad’s old Box Brownie

Current camera?
Nikon D610. Nikkor 24-70mm, Nikkor 70-200mm and Sigma 105mm Macro
Fuji XT30. Fujinon 10-24mm, Fujinon 18-55mm

Favourite photographic genre?
Street, documentary and especially environmental portraits

What are your influences/favourite photographers?
Early influences were National Geographic photographers and Steve McCurry and Don McCullen. My mentor whilst in China, Sharron Lovell (www.sharron-lovell.com), has certainly helped me immensely with her mantra ‘light before subject’ though I really enjoy images with a story too. More recently I enjoy my connections on social media. There is so much fantastic visual stimulation available. Dan Baker, Nick Turpin and InPublic are favourites.

Is there anybody or anything you would love to photograph?
Miao People in China. Japan. Llama farmers in Peru. New York. Portugal.
