4th Print Competition 2013

September sees our 4th print competition, with the theme of seaside and a judge that hasn’t been to the club before so new territory for everyone.

With lower than average entries, the standards are very high as usual.

This competition sees entries from long standing members and new members.

John Anfield, the judge had his work cut out and gave comments that were constructive, and he held back 11 images from the opens and 8 from the themes to be given above 17 marks.

In the open section John Purchase’s image “Honey Bee” was given a 19, along with Lester Woodward’s “Lone Tree, Buttermere”, Chris Newham’s “Glistening In The Morning Light” got 20, but was pipped to the post of winning by Sue Hartley.

In the themed section Sue Hartley got 19 with “Seaside Blues”

Sue won both sections with “Art Appreciation” winning the open section and given over all competition winner, and “It’s a lovely day out” won the themed section.

Well done to all the entrants who had selected images and to Sue for winning the competition.
